Finding friends, meeting like-minded people, feeling supported, building friend groups, and engaging in social movements — these are just a few of the things my clients have expressed wanting from their location.
I hold the belief that community, friendship, and belonging are essential to our well-being as humans. Unfortunately, we live in a society that actively tries to thwart efforts to build community through the erosion of third spaces, peak individualism, isolation by design, consumer culture, digital life becoming the default, and other factors. It’s also important to acknowledge that creating and maintaining community requires some degree of effort and sacrifice.
In today’s issue of The Astrocartography Edit, I’ll be going over which lines, parans, and relocated chart placements tend to be most supportive for finding community and friendship.
Best Astrocartography (ACG) Lines for Community & Friendship
Now, remember that you need to know the condition of each planet, luminary, and celestial body in your birth chart in order to know whether a specific ACG line will be supportive for you or not. To learn how to determine if a line is right for you, I recommend downloading a free copy of my Digital Astrocartography Workbook & Journal, as it contains a guide on this + much more!
This assessment is solely based on the energies and themes associated with the ACG lines.
Jupiter DC Line: Jupiter, the biggest planet in our solar system, is associated with success, expansion, abundance, confidence, and good fortune. When this planet is on the DC angle, which rules relationships with others, it brings ease in connecting with others and finding groups that feel aligned.
Sun DC Line: The sun, being the center of our solar system, is generally supportive for visibility, recognition, motivation, and confidence. The house where the sun is placed in our birth chart reveals the area of life where we ‘shine’ and gain vitality. Therefore, the Sun DC line location is usually strong for networking, connecting with others, and collaborating on shared goals and interests.
Mercury DC Line: When Mercury, the fast-moving planet of communication, thinking, and the mind, activates our relationships, we could find ourselves attracting people who are intelligent, interesting, and mentally stimulating. Mercury lines, in general, are often regarded as ideal places to learn and study.
*Honorable mention-Neptune DC and Venus DC lines.
Neptune DC Line: Neptune brings an air of spirituality and mysticism to relationships. This location could be good for retreats and connecting with a spiritual community. Some people, however, report feeling stuck, confused, emotionally overwhelmed, directionless being on Neptune lines over time.
Venus DC Line: Venus is the planet of love, relationships, beauty, harmony, ease, values, and choices. This line is known to be supportive for both romantic and platonic relationships.

Some relocated chart placements that foster community
11th House Placements (especially stellium): I like to call the 11th House the house of the ‘chosen community’, because the 3rd House also rules community, but our local community, the people who happen to be around us (neighbors, schoolmates, etc.) whereas the 11th House governs who we choose to associate with, as well as our networks, hopes, dreams, goals, and aspirations. The 11th House is partially about realizing our hopes, dreams, and goals through our networks, which, in essence, is what community is all about. This is also the house of activism, social movements, that enable us to further collective goals and social causes. Not all 11th House placements are supportive, though. Benefics, like Venus and Jupiter, tend to bring luck and ease in this area of life. The Sun and the Moon also operate quite well here, as they bring that area of life into focus.
Moon in the 4th house and/or IC in Cancer: The moon rules home, family, ancestry, emotions, and belonging. The sign Cancer is ruled by the Moon. The 4th House/IC in our birth chart shows how we relate to a location and the types of experiences we tend to have there. Having this lunar energy over the 4th House/IC in a birth chart or relocated birth chart very often indicates emotional resonance and a deep connection to a location and its people, which is always helpful for finding friendship and community. *I’ve mentioned many times that I have this placement in my relocated chart in Spain, where I currently live!
Venus in the 3rd House: Having Venus in the 3rd House in a birth chart or relocated chart points to ease in integrating socially in your immediate environment, which is excellent for getting involved in your local community.
Paran Crossings that are ideal for Community
Moon/Mercury: This paran combines the moon (emotions, connection, resonance) with Mercury (communication, thinking, mental energy) and often results in a place where it feels easy and natural to converse and connect with others.
Moon/Venus: Indicator of emotionally connected relationships, communities, and groups that feel balanced and stabilizing.
Sun/Jupiter: Tends to feel like a more extroverted location, fun, exciting, lively, with lots of opportunities.
Sun/Moon: Balancing one’s inner world and outer world, connecting with others, and leading a community.
